Lol funny how enough I don't really have sea legs either , when we're on do known places like Corpus Christi or someplace here on the Lower MS where the boat stays rocking a lot

But anyhow I work on one of those tow boats you see pushing barges up and down the river . My boat just pushes 2 red flag barges ( barges that contain...well stuff that can explode lol ) 90% of the time . But my main job is a tankerman so when we got to dock I'm the one out there for 7hrs baking or freezing at a time while we plum product to the facility or making sure the bags is loaded level when there loading the barge.
I'm also the lead tankerman and trainer on the deck side so yeah wrangling deckhands, training them so they know how to do all the basic deck hand stuff , build tow, do basic engine work ,clean....clean....clean some more and then train them to be tankerman like me ..... O and be the one guy on the deck who's not terrified of the captain lol

Lower Mississippi is actually a pretty major shopping route. They'll come in from eh gulf and go pretty far up

O that was my merchant Mariners credentials, get that when I got cut loose as a tankerman. Getting into the wheel house is a bit more but idk $5-$800 a day sounds good and all but I think I'd loose my mind sitting and steering for 5-12 hr a day ADHD is a son of a gun
