Hobbie, an ex friend of mine.....has two houses at the marina that are full, no skeetos....but the birds like the gourds better than the houses, you ever try the gourds? I grew some and put them up one year. They were not very durable but the birds did like them l. I have about 100 or so ready the be processed when I figure out how to improve the durability.

A worthy investment. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2025/06/full-9686-261653-img_9682.png) Amish around here have them up, always wondered why....now I know.

You can plant certain flowers, plants, to attract dragonflies. They'll put a whuppin on the skeeters.
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Vampire bugs. One more reason to hate summer
Bats seem way better as skeeter eater seeing as they are both out at night. Our purple martins don't start feeding till about a half hour after sunrise but do eat a lot of them in the evening hours at last light

I have yet to put mosquito dope on here this year. It is unreal and I have never seen a spring/summer like this before. I am sure with the rain we have finally started getting it will change any day but so far we have had almost no skeeters and I love it.
I have nothing clever to put here.

One of the better years here. Been dry here for a number of years but even though we have gotten some nice rains it still as been really good. At the ranch being right on the river, again no flooding when melt came so that has made a difference. No excess standing water is a good thing.
Give me a fish, I will eat for a day. Teach me to fish, I will eat for a lifetime
