For years I've watched Swamp People. Looks like a real kick in the pants. Curious if anyone on here runs a gator line? Feel free to share some pics.

We’ve gotten to be friends of the Edgars (Joe and Daniel) from Swamp People. They come up here deer/duck hunting, and Daniel has been here rabbit hunting with beagles as well.
They’ve invited me down there to kill a gator for years. Promise me a big one. Haven’t went. Doesn’t trip my trigger.

To the best of my knowledge, Louisiana has the only legal alligator trapping season. Everywhere else it's a draw permit hunt.

Though Florida and Georgia do have a Nuisance Gator Permit/License for gators where they don't belong but it's not worth the trouble in Georgia as you can't advertise your services or charge for your services and can only take calls from the state but you get to keep and sell the gator meat and skin. However that can only be processed at a licensed gator facility and we ain't got but a couple or so of those and their all way down south.

Alabama handles their own nuisance calls, basically the local warden calls a buddy who is a NWCO.

Oh, and Georgia doesn't return calls when someone has a nuisance gator. Had a guy call me all last summer about a six footer in his pond a few miles from me. If it were four foot and under it would've been fair game on my NWCO license, but I couldn't touch it. The state never returned mine or his calls just bounced us around the phone tag leave a message machine.

Georgia has got to loosen up on gators for us NWCOs because that's the third gator that I'm personally aware of in the area. One in a pond about a mile west of me and Flatcreek Floyd, a ten footer, just got killed trying to cross the highway at night in Peachtree City.

Those laws dont make sense. How many people wont just kill it when its on private property?

I "hunted" them with a buddy in Florida a couple times. It was a draw system. No set lines or baited hooks allowed. You could bowfish, snag with a treble hook, or use a bait wrapped around a chunk of dowel rod that when they swallow they can't spit up and it had to be tended at all times. It was a blast and absolutely shocking how many gators you would see once it got dark. This was in the lakes around Orlando. I can't imagine how many their are farther south.

Back during my GW days, I made 3 to 5 gator poaching cases annually. Found many more gators dead & floating with a wound to the noggin & the tail cut off.

There are gators (varying sizes) in EVERY hole of water here...from ditches to larger ponds, to creeks and rivers. The red eyes at night during a scan with a good light is a sight to see.

I'd imagine in a 330 at least their jaws would be held shut.

SES. Shoot. Eat. Shovel for the remains

How many folks would want a gator in a pond the grand kids wade in and fish and all the dogs swim in.

No....limb lines for gators in Georgia is illegal. There is no commercial gator harvest in Georgia like you see on Swamp People TV show.

Georgia has a quota-limited gator hunting season. The state is divided into several zones and the applicant applies for the zone where they can hunt. Gators must have a hand-held line attached to them b4 they can be dispatched with a bangstick or handgun. The line/attachment can be delivered by an arrow, crossbow bolt, harpoon, or rod/reel. Rifles cannot be possessed while gator hunting. Limit 1 gator per season. Takes about 3 or 4 years of applying to draw a permit/tag.
