Nice.
Many folks here call them Serviceberries. I have some on my property but haven't tasted them yet.

Those are great looking berry's. I have wild one in the hills and along a crick but I haven't had a good crop for a few years now. I checked yesterday and another poor year and what is there are slow to ripen this year too. I did plant a tree at my home in town and I been just eating from the tree. I still have about three larger freezer bags full off them I use throughout the ear.
I'm jealous MJM.

I've also heard some folks call them " Goose Berries " I've seen them out in the hills around stock tanks \ windmills and coulee's with a good underground spring .
Enjoy them for us and share some pictures of what you've made from them jelly or syrup .

There is a goose berry also. It is a totally different berry. My wife makes pies, crisp, muffins, pancakes and waffles with them. I am sure they would make good wine, but I have never had any.

Lee, I think the July berries taste better. Maybe it is from waiting to get another batch. Here some years they are not worth trying to pick. There can be so few it is not worth your time. I think late frost does them in here often. I may run down to Spencer. If I do I will look you up. Make sure you got a chair for me. I like to act like I belong there.

I forgot to add another of my favorite berries to pick , they're buffalo berries they are kind of dangerous to pick because of the thorns on the branches but they are darn good eating .
I like them as a freeze dried snack during the winter months when I find a few of the berries still on the branches .
