Texas has a similar law and my understanding is that it is currently in federal court because the Feds don't agree.

Help me understand. So if this passes - we won't need a tax stamp for suppressors and short barreled rifles? Is that correct?

You wonder if it would of got much attention or consideration if put out there by itself it’s all about the games they play in DC.

How would they bypass a filibuster?

Standing alone most bills struggle to get attention put it in a combined bill other parts of it are of interest to others that will support the combined bill to get their interest put into law. Often called pork on occasions is many cases.

It's possible but absolutely nothing is know for sure until it's signed by Trump. Tell then it can be changed again and again.

BUT my guess is the best we will actually get is not having to pay the 200 to process stamps for suppressors, short barrel shotguns and short barrel rifles.

Speaker of the House Johnson has pretty much put the brakes on any attempt to reinsert the full language of the SHORT or HPA sections and says he wants a vote on it as sent by the Senate.

At this point I'm firmly opposed and willing to support anyone running against Johnson, Thune and any who support screwing us over again.

Yes, I know there is stuff in there we need but it is also full of stuff we don't and we were lied to and screwed over to get us to support it.

I'm done, burn it all to the ground.

Idaho has that. I talked to a guy who manufacturers suppressors in Idaho. He said that there are a couple small guys who are doing it, as well as the at home guys. But he and most anybody else who wants to sell suppressors out of state won't sell any in Idaho without a tax stamp. Because the BATF has pulled the licenses from anybody who is selling in state without jumping through the Federal hoops. This was last summer, so before this current legislation was on the horizon.

The simple truth is that we were never going to get what we were promised. Neither will Trump as there was a poison pill inserted in the Senate.

Silver lining?

By separating the tax from the removal of SBRs and suppressors from the NFA the parlimentarian may have created the grounds for the destruction of the NFA. Case law on the NFA is that is solely a tax well within the power of congress as it doesn't actually prohibit ownership of arms just taxes them.

You know like Obamacare according to Justice Roberts, just a tax.

But not so according the Parliamentarian McDonough.

Here's hoping we get lemonade from this lemon of a big BS of a bill.

Pretty much. You'll still need to fill out the paperwork, get fingerprinted, local LEO approval and meet all the requirements. But hey now you don't have to pay to get raped.

Oh, and for the poor saps that live in states that use the NFA to make owning NFA registered items illegal well they're still illegal.

Now look for huge push back in Nevada which just went red. It'll go blue.

The tax repercussions of the gaming write off the was inserted by an unelected parliamentarian will have the gaming industry up in arms.

And not just Nevada but every state that has some form of legal gaming.

And even the ones that don't as this will be applied to all wagers.

You like to fish your local bass tourney or enter the hound in a cash prize nite hunt? Maybe play a little friday night bingo? All will now fall under what can be written off against any winnings.
