Summer side hustle #1 has been activated.lol

I couldn't get them at a good price from the guy I got em from last year so I got on line and looked up peach orchards...made some.calls...and we are on the way to Baumell SC to pick up 100 boxes of peaches.

Paul we were just thinking of ypu..we just passed the mt airy exit.


If all works out well I'll be making the trip at least once a week till the peaches are in season.

Running low on Peach jam. I will have to get a bushel next year to make a new batch. It usually takes me 3 years to eat up a big batch but I give some away also.

Everyone else here is selling them.for 38 to 42 a half bushel and 70 to 80 a bushel..the prices are nuts.

I'm selling them.for 25.00 a half and 50.00 a bushel but I decided to break somedown in 5,10, and 15.00 baskets..those 50.00 a bushel peaches have turned into some for 90.00 a bushel.

I told him.some.people can't buy a big box or use a big box of em so we gotta offer smaller quantities too and it's paying off.people are buying em and are very happy.

One.lady just stopped and bought a 10.00 basket. She said she just left the grocery store and they were hard as a brick.

I told her they'd ripen and she said she wanted some now.lol

I bet those smaller baskets would sell real well at the NTA too.

Back around 1980-82 I used to drive my big red 2 ton farm truck over to the coast twice a week with around 80-90 half bushel boxes of peaches. I was paying $7 for them and selling for $10. It was hard to get those old fisherman's wives to pay more than that.

Times have sure changed ..and not for the better in this case but the markets there and even at my prices I'm undercutting the competition by 33 1/3 %.
