foxkidd44 OP trapper Joined: Jun 2007 Illinois	Good thing for 4 wheel drive..I took peg last night to see the new Superman movie... on the way home,, truck started shaking... Was going to have a look at it this morning when I could see... I hopped in the truck to go check my trot lines early this morning,because it's not far from home,,, I got about a mile away and then CLUNK CLUNKY CLUNK,,, my rear drive shaft hit the road. I just pulled the rear shaft out,, tossed it into the bed. , popped it into 4 wheel drive,, and I got home,, 😆 Glad it didn't happen last night, in the dark, with my good clothes on. charles trapper C Joined: Aug 2010 Asheville, NC	Done it twice. First time I was pulling a trailer of firewood out of the woods and tore up the rear axle. Second time was in a cutover when I broke a u-joint. Both times were caused by driving where I shouldn't.

Seldom trapper Joined: Mar 2007 Midland, MI.	I’ve never lost a U-joint but when working for MSU I driving right behind a car on a paved road and his front U-joint let loose. If didn’t just beat the bejesus out of the undercarriage, it stuck in a chuck hole and nearly flipped the car end over end!!! Had to lift the rear end over 5’ in the air and it was a wonder someone didn’t go through the windshield but everybody was OK just seriously shook-up with chit pants!
