Nice video. I have dirt like that in my yard too. Everywhere else is gravel and rock. Maybe some rock hard clay.

How about the available water? Cattle troths? Creek….
Someone out of California, that trapped AZ , told me cats don’t need water.
That the cat can survive from moisture from eating .without water.

Great video! Twisting the trap into the bed to help it settle was helpful.
Do you ever get freezing conditions? I’ve heard peat is hit or miss for that
