How about the available water? Cattle troths? Creek.
Someone out of California, that trapped AZ , told me cats dont need water.
That the cat can survive from moisture from eating .without water.
Thoughts?
Free surface water is everywhere here; even in drought. In AZ, not so much the case dependent on the year and timing. I've watched cats drink free surface water, so I don't know if they need it for survival, but they dang sure utilize it. I would think that a nursing mother would most definitely need free surface water.

Usually snow in the north, canals everywhere.

Maybe a Utah or Nevada guy will jump in. itd be nice to see some exposed sets surrounded by rocks and sticks I guess .. mixed line for predator control covered traps are the way to go around here I meant about water. (Please dont hit your head again,,,,, people are starting to wonder) Maybe YesSir should start a best helmet thread. I bet is come with colors..

Make all step downs here, hardly ever bed them much... just a twist or 2. Fox only though, coyote's are few and far between.
Good sandy soil too for the most part.

. What are you going after next season cowboy ?
do you have other places lined up or are you sticking to the home place? Muskrat, otter, coyote, fox, coon, ermine, possum (always possum ) mink, maybe beaver, and if I draw tags, fisher and bobcat. Probably going to have to head north to get a cat or fisher though. I'm planning on asking around if I can trap, two of our neighbors already let me hunt on their land so they might let me trap there too. Also there is some public land a couple miles north of our place that I'm planning to trap.
