if not reloading yourself? I have ordered .225 from Hendershot's but am looking for more user recommendations.

With standard stuff I'll either go and order online ,out just stop in at Evey hardware store , feed store ,pawn shop or gunship I can while doing my regular errands .

But as far as more off the wall stuff ....eghhhh ...GunBroker ?

Honestly man I've done the numbers after buying a rifle . Buy the time I usually find a round it likes and groups to what I like I'm looking at a box of Hornady bullets , can of most accurate powered , 100 primers , aaannnnnd with some scrounging and used stuff could get a used press , dies and what not load data online.

Knowing what I know now.... $300 bones and some scrounging could get me a decent little set up that would let me load some decent ammo a long with reforming cases , for odd ball stuff

Sorry went off on a bit of a tangent laugh

I've ordered from hendershots & unknown munitions, I was much happier with the performance of the latter.

Anywhere I can find them. Oddly, the hardest thing I have found to get ammo for is a 35 Rem. You wouldn't expect that as popular as they used to be but I struggled for awhile.

Wolfdog, all good points - I have been thinking about doing the reloading thing again, but I just don't pull the triggers that much anymore. Sold most of my bench equipment 25 years ago, but still have the .225 dies, maybe 6 boxes of brass and a couple of hundred various gr. bullets.
Plan to leave the ol' varmint rifle to my son, but I want to set him up with a little ammo to go with it!

Snyde, I will poke around at Unknown. Thanks for the tip.

The 35 Remington is hard to find ammo for, when you do find it in stock you better not procrastinate or it'll be gone as quick as it was there.

The 30 Remington is even harder to get ammo for.

I don't own either, but I have a friend that is always looking for both.
Not sure why he doesn't reload since he is heavy on oddball calibers.

Luckily I started reloading about 35 years ago.

It's interesting that you guys mention 35 Remington. I had two different brands in my hand less than a half hour ago, and declined due to the price. I'd like to have one round I don't have to load for, but I'm too cheap.
Wisconsin cartridge and Buffalo Arms can be good sources for hard to find or obsolete ammo, as well as gun shows.

The 35 rem is very easy on brass. Getting 8-10 loads from a single piece is not uncommon. 100 pcs will last a man a long time.

Hendershots and Buffalo Arms have good selections,I've ordered 38/55 and 45/90 rounds thru them.

30-40 Krag. Local gun shop has new Remington factory loads. $87.00 a box!
Not for me, they'll stay on the shelf.
