All right t-man crowd, let’s talk mattresses!

After all, can’t trap hard without a good nights rest!

We’ve been mattress shopping, which is h£|| for someone like me that over analyzes and researches everything to death, I’m officially at the analysis paralysis phase.

So many options!

Wife and I found out in the sleep number store that we like vastly different firmnesses.

I do like the idea of the sleep numbers (and price wise it wasn’t horrible compared to some of the others), but, more moving parts equals more issues in my mind.

So let me hear what ya have! Likes, dislikes, do agains and never agains.

We've had a sleep number for over 20 years. We love it. Have had no issues with it in that time. She likes 45, I like 100.

We haven't found a mattress yet that is comfortable for both of us, and isn't hot as a furnace,,probably had 5 different brands...all I can say is good luck and be prepared to shell out serious money.

We have one like the sleep number beds, but it doesn't have numbers. Push one button for firmer, the other button for softer. After 20+ years, my side has a slow leak. Every few weeks I have to push the button to add some air. I don't notice it until it gets soft enough that I wake up with a back ache. Then I realize its time to add air.

If you like significantly different firmness, the transition in the middle will be noticeable.
If you both like it fairly soft, ours has a foam divider in the middle that would be noticeable.

We've had a cat get mad and pee on the bed a couple times. That's much easier to take care of with a sleep number. Unzip the cover, toss it in the washing machine and you're done. There is no internal material to absord it.

If I was shoping for a matress today, I would not shop. I'd just order a sleep number.

I’m looking into BedJet system for cooling. I would like a better mattress but I don’t wanna spend thousands of dollars.
Temper pedic seems to have very good reviews but it is gonna cost you.
But like you said, can’t put a price on a good nights sleep

not sure if they have one where you are

they are like a franchise so here the guy you talk to owns the store and makes the mattresses.

I need to get one , all my kids and wife had one , I am sleeping on the 24 year old mattress we bought after we got our first house and since I was/am the only one sleeping in it the last 10 years or so it definitely needs replacing but also is still working and my back doesn't hurt so it's working.

yes the wife and I didn't sleep nights in the same bed after about 15 years , and we both slept better and got along better not waking the other up all night.

the guy at Verlo can make you almost anything , they have base mattress plans to start with and if you need to modify it later he can do that also.

so I am cheap and sleeping fine so I will probably just keep using this one a little longer but without a doubt verlo is where I am going to get any future matresses.
when I needed to move my wife's bed down stairs while she had cancer and put it in the living room to be next to the bathroom I talked to him about options for her and he was able to look up what we bought for her and would have modified it , I ended up buying a taller base for it so it was easy to get in and out of and that worked for the 2 weeks she used it

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I bought an extra firm one off Amazon (can't remember the brand) about 8 years ago. It is holding up good and the wife loves it, claims it is one of the only beds she has ever slept on that doesn't hurt her back. It feels great when I lay down, and I go to sleep on it faster than any mattress I've ever had (not that I've ever had an issue with falling asleep). Unfortunately if I sleep over about four hours in it, it hurts my back unless I put a pillow between my knees. I would have replaced it long before now with a somewhat softer one, except that it does so well for the wife, so I stick a pillow between my knees before I go to sleep, and it is alright. This time of year I usually take a nap in the heat of the day in my chair (my couch is super uncomfortable) and only spend about four or five hours a night in the bed anyways.

We have a sleep number. I thought it was a huge waste of $$$ at the time. Since then I have been, happily, well rested. I would recommend!

As firm as they offer, with plywood instead of box spring. Used to have chronic back problems before I went this route with what I sleep on, most nights.

Boone, let me tell you about my new best friend. The amazon basics memory foam mattress.

We just finished building our new house and finally had room for a king size bed. Money was tight at the end so instead of spending 1500 bucks on a "good" mattress we ordered the Amazon Basics 12" thick cooling memory foam mattress.

We paid $347 for it. UPS delivered it in a box that was about 3 foot long by 16 inches wide. You open it up, pop the vacuum seal, and let it expand for 24 hours.

I'm here to tell you that's the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on. I sleep like a baby on that thing. I tell everybody I know about how much I love that mattress.

It's a little more firm than what I thought I wanted, but now that I've used it I prefer that. After you lay there for a second it conforms to your body and I fall right asleep.

I can buy 5 or 6 of these mattresses for the price of one "good" mattress. Go on there and read the reviews. There are 5 year reviews from happy customers. I give mine a 10 out of 10.

Gotta live up to the nickname...

I prefer a mattress that is firm around the edge. When I sit on the edge of the bed, I don’t want to slide off.

Been sleeping on a waterbed since the 1970's. Replacement mattresses are under $100, been through probably 10 of them in that time, maybe. smile Back feels great.
