There is a Limburger cheese spread that is phenomenal. It’s diluted a bit with a white cheddar but it still has that stinky kick to it. Straight Limburger is tough to do. Bought it once and my beagle at the time stopped dead in his tracks walking through the hallway. He didn’t know what to think of that smell! My beagle would not eat Limburger, and beagles eat anything. What is the name of the spread that is “ phenomenal”? They used to make a spread “Mohawk Valley” that I used to buy. They don’t make it anymore. I really like Limburger cheese .

It is sold in a plastic tub. https://www.vernscheese.com/shop-online/amish-country-limburger-cheese-spread/

I caught my first rat at six years old with limburger cheese as the bait.

Keith, I don't know which cheese this was but it is a real funny story:
I was traveling on a train from Bordeaux to Paris and on one of the stops an elderly blind lady boarded into our car with a seeing eye german shepard. After a little while a guy pulled a baguette out of a satchel and unwrapped a slab of some kind of putrid smelling cheese. Well, the ol' gal sniffed the air a bit with a frown and then takes her cane and whacks the crap out of the dog! LOL About the funniest thing I ever saw.

aged brick, also Huntsman but its hard to find. Mild or medium brick. Aged is getting into Limburger lite category. BTW, have also been told Limburger continues to age over time. Fresh is pretty good and different than letting it sit around a year or so. Once it gets that far it goes into Sonny's super sticky catfish bait.
