There was a little mouse that had a hole near the back door of the kitchen where he could sit and see most of what was going on in the kitchen. One morning a farmer and his wife came home from shopping and were putting up their groceries. The little mouse sat anxiously watching them put the sack of things on the table. He thought, oh boy, could they have popcorn or maybe peanut brittle in there. But suddenly out flopped a package with a mouse trap in it. Hysterically he went running out of the house into the chicken yard and found the rooster and yelled , THERE IS A MOUSE TRAP IN THE HOUSE ! The rooster crowed and said that has nothing to do with me and its not my problem.
Next the mouse found the pig and yelled, THERE IS A MOUSE TRAP IN THE HOUSE ! The pig went oink and said that has nothing to do with me and its not my problem.
Next the mouse found the cow and yelled, THERE IS A MOUSE TRAP IN THE HOUSE ! The cow went moo and said that has nothing to do with me and its not my problem.

That night the farmers wife set the mouse trap out on the back porch near where she had seen the mouse frequent. She and her husband went to bed and sometime in the night she was awaken by the sound of the trap going off. Quickly she jumped out of bed and headed to the porch but forgot to light the old lamp. She got to where the trap was and not being able to see clearly she was bitten by a rattler that had got his tail in the trap.

Well her husband took her to the Dr. and he did all he could for her but sent her home to get bed rest. Well her husband called a neighbor lady over to help him care for her. The lady recommended chicken soup for her as that was the first line of defense in those days. So the farmer killed the rooster and boiled him for soup. Over the next couple of days days the wife never got any better. The farmer called in more help and he needed extra food for them so he killed the pig for the help to eat. Then in a few days the wife died and family and friends came to the funeral from far and wide and the farmer killed the cow to feed them all.

That evening after the funeral the little mouse looked over the farm yard that was missing 3 of its members and said " I knew when that mouse trap came into the house there was going to be trouble, but everyone said it wasn't their problem" !

The moral of the story is, Now the farmer has all the free time he wants to hunt fish and such. No animals to take care of, his dear wife has passed on, he can eat what he wants and has soul power of the remote control? wink

I think the moral of the story is
It's not your house so stay out unless invited in, because you will create problems for everyone

This story was first put on here by someone around '07 or '08 and I think I put it on here a few years ago and couldn't remember the name to credit it to on here then nor now.

Stories can be like rabbit tracks. One rabbit can make a lot of tracks that go no place. Makes one wonder how a dog can sort them out and get them going in the right direction. Some can't and they end up back trackers or by sight only.
