Over the last few weeks I have been to British Columbia and Alberta for work. I know Canada is not perfect (for example, gun control) and that it has some less nice parts (I've watched enough of the Trailer Park Boys), but y'all generally have a very clean and well kept country.
Any suggestions on how we too can have nice things in the U.S.? Is this joke I was just in Canada and I can tell you one thing if it wasn’t for the fishing and hunting I would NEVER step foot in that place. The cities are absolutely garbage. We felt like we were in a Third World country and 100% did not feel safe. I felt better and more safe in Costa Rica than in the small cirty of Thunder Bay. People begging over the place sleeping on the roads.Yuck

The most "enlightened" liberal lady I work with went to Canada a couple years ago and her mom unfortunately fell and broke her arm. They told me the level of service was terrible.
But hey if your goal is to blame America first then let's go ahead and leave some facts out...

I’ll try start out of the banter and answer the original question as best as possible considering I might not even understand what “nice things” means.
I have only been to about half the states so I will not pretend to be an expert but my foremost thought is “Don’t commercialize every single thing that there is there slightest possibility to make a nickel off of.” That’s a huge difference I notice when in the selective countries. About 90% of the tourist attractions are ridiculous. Maybe they overwhelm you so you no longer notice “the nice things”. Even at about age 10 my kids would laugh at the silliness of so many. It would be easy to forget about the beautiful and awe inspiring because of the opposite.

Plenty of "nice things" in America, same in Italy, fiji and pretty much everywhere, whats your point?
grass is always greener huh? I'm pretty sure his point was to troll. If not then he must legitimately think that Canada has nice things and the USA does not. I think that's a pretty stupid idea but if he really believes it, the only logical choice would be for him to pack up and relocate there. He complained that he can't do that because he has too many guns but apparently he doesn't think the freedom to own as many guns as we want and the amendment that protects that right is a "nice thing." What are you waiting for BC? Start packing and leave those guns and the freedom to own them behind.

What are you waiting for BC? Start packing and leave those guns and the freedom to own them behind. Not trolling. Sincere question for discussion. I love our country. I travel around it a lot for work. There are great small towns in most states. Some of the best I have seen are in rural PA--your state. And, then I see what has happened to Houston. Atlanta. Denver. Heck, we have massive homeless camps in OKC. And drive by shootings. I know Canada is not perfect. It does not have the same freedoms and the food is not great--but what can we learn from them? Tman is always quick to give Canada opinions on what it should do. Curious how we can do better as a society.
