Anyone got any idea why my cabbage look like this?? Is only my second time trying to grow them. Never remember mom's doing this. Best i can figure is to much water and hot weather.

When a plant suffers water deprivation the outer leaves (farthest from the roots) suffer first. Could be that, not saying it is as there could be other issues. Any other issue is also likely involving the roots though imho.

Could be heat stress. Cabbage is long done down here. We can get some brassicas through summer like collards but they're basically inedible and struggle through summer.

I suspect calcium deficiency , https://www.yara.co.uk/crop-nutriti...cies-cabbage/calcium-deficiency-cabbage/

bassically blossom end rot for cabbage

can happen in years of lots of rain and years of little rain

spray with the same stop rot/calcium supplement you use on tomatoes and squash not sure if it will fix the damaged ones but it should help those that don't have it yet.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Egg shells worked good to fight off blossom end rot in my tomato garden

Try planting your cabbage earlier. I suggest a few weeks before last frost. Too hot in July and August.

My thoughts would be either calcium or boron shortages and they can be due to lack of nutrient, poor water management, nutrient imbalance and things like excessive heat etc. can cause plants to be more susceptable as most brassica species prefer cooler growing conditions.

Looks like watering during a high sun.
Burnt the leaves.
The new growth, isn't hurt it seems.
