I'm pretty sure his point was to troll.

If not then he must legitimately think that Canada has nice things and the USA does not. I think that's a pretty stupid idea but if he really believes it, the only logical choice would be for him to pack up and relocate there.

He complained that he can't do that because he has too many guns but apparently he doesn't think the freedom to own as many guns as we want and the amendment that protects that right is a "nice thing."

What are you waiting for BC? Start packing and leave those guns and the freedom to own them behind.

Not trolling. Sincere question for discussion.

I love our country. I travel around it a lot for work. There are great small towns in most states. Some of the best I have seen are in rural PA--your state.

And, then I see what has happened to Houston. Atlanta. Denver. Heck, we have massive homeless camps in OKC. And drive by shootings.

I know Canada is not perfect. It does not have the same freedoms and the food is not great--but what can we learn from them?

Tman is always quick to give Canada opinions on what it should do. Curious how we can do better as a society.

Any suggestions on how we too can have nice things in the U.S.?

Go to Winnipeg, Montreal, Toronto and your opinion of Canada would change.

No offense to my Canadian friends but there isn't anything that I would like us to emulate. They would probably say the same thing regarding the USA. That is a good thing we should love our country.

I do think Canada does a better job exploiting her natural resources.

In a sense Canada does look utopian but as was pointed out throw 300 million more people there and opinions would change.

Our population is an issue. NM/CO rivers I fished and never saw another person 30 years ago are overrun with people now.

I would guess another 5-10 million illegal immigrants added to that number.

Our economic model requires population growth

Totally off topic, but the Casino video reminded me, my dad is the mobster on the right in Alto Nights, the new Robert DeNiro movie.

They filmed it in Cincinnati and my dad submitted his picture and was chosen to be an extra in the movie.

I’m assuming you mean California.

The gigantic population difference accounts for a lot. BC you mentioned fishing, I regularly fish a lake that isn’t big, maybe 60 square miles. The fishing is as good for pike and walleye as anywhere in Saskatchewan. Yet, even in July I am one of 2 or 3 boats out there on weekdays boating hundreds of fish. I’ve been to Minnesota enough times to know how sweet indeed that is.

About 8 years ago I fished a waterbody in Colorado that resembled what we’d call a slough. The amount of people fishing from the shore was insane. I did it simply to do it more than for the pleasure. Lol

We rarely see other boats on the lakes we fish in NW Ontario. When we get off the main lakes that is. Usually requires a smaller boat, 4 wheeler or truck you don’t care about scratching up. Lots and lots of hidden gems up there!

I appreciate the Canadians weighing in. Unfortunately, I can't do anything about us having too many people.

Since Canada is so nice we could just make it the 51st state, then the US would have nice things too.

PS For folks that don't recognize sarcasm, that was an example.

I work with guys up there who were Trump supporters. UNTIL he started that 51st state nonsense.

They despise him now. These are great dudes that love their country.

But I didn't mean to derail this. My question is about not having litter, homeless camps and graffiti. Having nice things.

Change your mind on needing the 20 million illegals?

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.
