Try a 3" masonry chisel. More precise not quite as much shrapnel flying around

LJ, you ever use waxed dirt? I’m far from an expert (or even a novice) but the wax dirt seems to pack well and snug up the trap pretty decent.

I wouldn’t mind seeing more bedding examples from the group.
