I knew it was going to be hot today, even took my time. Was helping my brother out with some of his mowing jobs he has.
I went into some shade to cool down.. drank some water… went to try to mow again and I couldn’t seem to catch my breath.. I stopped again…took another quick break, and the same thing,, I don’t have COPD or heart issues, just the blood clots thing a few years ago had been my only medical issue concerning my lungs.so, sat down for at least 15 minutes stood up and man was I dizzy.

Sometimes you just know when your check engine light comes on… I went to the local park and stuck my head under the water spigot they had and I sat there in the shade just absolutely drenched… still a tad dizzy but I was able to get my breath back.
I drove the 15 miles home, when I walked in,took off all my clothes , and went directly into my bedroom and laid down on my bed in front of the fan.
I still have a little bit of a headache, I am tired.but I don’t feel sick to my stomach or anything.
Ticks me off,,, because I did my best today not to overdo it.
The heat index was 115 today,,, dew point was 83.

Drink you some pickle juice. Should help to stop the cramps that start about the time you fall asleep.

Growing up i would go to my dad's for the summer,no ac I took to the heat a lot better then I do now, it doesn't take much, I was use to it, now working in the ac, plus having ac in the house.. im a sissy when it comes to heat. Took my son who is 12 to do a lawn job yesterday evening. Made him drink tons of water before hand, took half frozen water and a towel for when he was working. Boy probably sweat out 10 pounds the hat was soaked looked like a faucet dripping from the bill. Make sure you continue to hydrate!

It hits you different here. Lol

I've been up against heat exhaustion many times in my younger years. Back then I replaced a lot of roofs, roofing a primary revenue generator for my fledgling business. I did a lot of the in mid-summer when temps were in the 90's and the humidity was high.

When we did roofs we went at it hard.

For me the first signs were that I'd stop sweating and start getting the chills. Then I'd start getting dizzy and nauseous. At that point I'd get off the roof, find some shade and pound large amounts of water. After fifteen-twenty minutes of rest I'd go back at it.

Now you gave me an idea… I can put a cold pack up in there!!

I woke up this morning feeling good… no after effects
