6 day solo longline trip deep into the fiords of the outer coast. Weather has to be right to get there and the same to get back. Nostalgic place with lots of great memories there when my boys worked on the boat. Tasted her moods this time-Sunny, calm, rain, fog, NE gale and a tsunami warning to add spice. Only saw 2 boats the whole time [Linked Image]

Face of an underwater glacial moraine. In fathoms, rises to within 5 fathoms of the surface and spans the bay . This glacier has retreated 15 miles in 112 years. [Linked Image]

I would not call outdoor adventures or anything fishing, hunting, trapping or hiking work ever. I would call it very lucky to be able to be part of the journey and the adventure.

You are a very lucky man. Thank you for the pictures.

That’d just be where 2 separate currents meet. Probably 150 fathoms right there. Any structure is on the edges and that’s what I look for. Places where it might shelve somewhat. Heading up the fiord towards the glacier at the head it’s interesting to see the progression of newer and newer growth. It was hard rock gold mining country in the 30’s and there are now big quartz veins only recently exposed. Of course it’s all National Park now. There is a stream/lake system partway that they say developed a sustaining sockeye run within 30 years after glacier retreated and allowed access

MJM would’ve been great to have some help especially driving. 16 hours straight of hand steering to get there smile

There must be a heck of a current in and out of that fjord when the tide is running

The moraine is like a big dam. Only 30 feet deep all the way across and the water pours hard there!
