Need some ideas on which blinds to look at, and which ones to avoid. Big enough for me, a blind chair and a small heater.
Thought I would start looking now, deer season will be here before you know it.

We have an Ameristep. I hate pop-up blinds, but they're awful handy for the little guys killing turkeys. I've never had a problem with this one, and it'd been laying on the ground for at least one winter when I found it, abandoned by a trespasser.

TideWe blinds are a good value and comes in different sizes bough one for elk hunting I liked it so much I bought a second one to cover another wallow. Put a piece of old carpet I cut to fit the bottom to keep it quiet. Easy up and take down comes in a carry bag pretty universal.

Don't get one too big or too small. Too small and you are scraping the sides making noise the deer won't like. Too big and you can't get in position to shoot out of more than one window without moving. Make sure you can get the muzzle out the window or it gets really loud inside.

The last one I bought is a hub style Barronett that I am pretty happy with. It isn't completely waterproof because of some pin holes in the black plastic inner coating. Fixable with a bit of silicone caulking.

It's best to put them up on a flat spot at least a couple of weeks before you plan to hunt from them.

Stay away from the ones that are supposed to stay up using spring steel.

Check out the ameristep chair blind. I've been using one for 8 years can fit bog pod and small Coleman heater.

Barronett, I have run an arrow through a many a deer and hog not to mention turkeys for days, outta one of several from that brand.

But I really only care that the windows are sliders and not velcro. I had an Ameristep that I got on clearance at Tractor Supply that I really liked but it blew away in a bad storm a few years ago. Replaced with a Tidewe and have no complaints.

I like them as big as I can get. The Double Bull blinds from the past with the 360 visual and shooting with around continuous windows. To many dead spots and no shooting areas in most of all those cheap blinds. I like large blinds when bow hunting.

Ameristep Caretaker is what I have for when I need it. Works great for me. Used it for turkeys, deer and bear, shotgun, crossbow and rifles. ~$200 I think

If you want deluxe, look into Lucky Blinds. Made in MI over in Ubly. Super nice and heavy duty. They'll do custom too.

I have a cage hunting blind. Well worth the money. I used cheaper blinds for years and was constantly replacing them. I’ve been money ahead by buying a better quality blind. Eric

I hunted with them a lot when the kids were small. Great to cover kids movies, wind and bad weather and small heater heats them up. Some are mad with materials that make more noise. and snag up more.. Limited visibility is a draw back to me.


My best one don't remember brand finally fell apart after 9 hard years. I thin I got it for 300 at bass pro 14 years back so whatever company it was may not be in business any longer.

Since the kids can use climbers now and set still. Typically thay are in a climber or just sitting on the ground with no blind. But they are typically done before it gets to cold and nasty.

Let us know what you get and like about those you look at I need to go shopping and get some new stands and blinds to replace old death traps. I have not shoped for them in years and I'm sure thaer are many nice improvements in unaware of.

I used to say same thing until I bought one, brushed it in, and arrowed a doe at 20 yds.

Have killed several from a blind with a rifle since.

I have two Primos blinds. But, if I buy another it will be a Tidewe.

I like em as Ive got older. Made a hook-type bow holder that hangs from center of blind.

This was back in 2021 when I 1st set one up. The deer are about 25 yds from the blind...

Put 2 out for elk had and deer passing by never phased them a bit.

I have a tide we see through. Works good.
