For all the southern confederacy apologists. Read the articles of secession of the southern states. White supremacy and maintaining the institution of slavery was the mantra for all of them. The failure of the US government to allow the US military to properly finish the job in 1865 and hang all the traitors has caused this country a lot of unnecessary grief that continues today. Sherman should have done multiple marches to the sea. Having spent significant time halfway around the world leading armed patrols in the dead of night where the US American soldier next to you was your brother regardless of his race or ethnicity just it makes it more infuriating to me for some of the racists on this forum to continue to be allowed to spew their slanted viewpoints. The Confederate flag to me, as an American veteran from a military family tracing service back to the revolutionary war, is no different than the Imperial Japanese or Nazi Germany battle flags. I'm quite sure the confederates on this site will continue their slanted version of "the cause". Unfortunately, you can't change a bigot's mind and the constitution which US soldiers defend lets them run their mouths. All I'm saying.
But you didnt learn anything from it .
Honor a Soldier. Be the kind of American worth fighting for.

He explores and goes into the whig/republican intent to create an all powerful federal power. Touches on the Jefferson/Hamilton debate. Provides historical content of Madison and the War of 1812. Lays out Lincoln's mentorship by Clay and the National Bank/High Tarriff policy of the Whig/Republican. Presents previous sessession crisis' such as New England in 1812. South Carolina nullification under Jackson. Completely tosses out the "it was slavery" nonsense. Clearly demonstrates Lincoln's dictatorial actions leading up to and intentional hostile acts to trigger the war as an excuse to run roughshod over all.
The civil war was never about slavery. Politicians later made it about slavery. It was all about making the exports and imports equaled The south had all the raw materials, and food products to ship out, while the north had mostly only manufactured products. The government wanted more taxes put on the south , because the north needed more taxes to keep production of finished products going. Farming has always been the back bone of any country.
We have met the enemy and the enemy is us!

Or better yet. Read the US Constitution, Declaration of Independence, the Federalist Papers. Do some reading on the Constitutional Convention itself, particularly the concerns and debates of the states. Read Jefferson, Madison, and Adams.
Let that soak in good.
Now consider just how you would resolve things like National Banks. Forget about slavery. Plug in the real fights long before the radical abolitionists got things stirred up. The War of 1812 and the New England States refusal to provide troops and threats of Sessession. Yes, New England actually opposed defense of the nation in the face of a congressional declaration of war. How about Henry Clay vs Andrew Jackson over the National Bank.
Now you should begin to get it. It was never about slavery. It was all about federal power from the beginning.

Warrior, I encourage you to continue taking one red pill at a time. The whole bottle would be better; it won't kill you, but rather wreck your foundation and in the end make you stronger.
I encourage you to take your own advice and "go dig a little deeper" and find out just who and what started the Whig Party? Who was involved in it and what were they pushing? Who was the force behind Lincoln and his tariffs on the south? Who was benefiting from it? Who was smuggling cotton from the south to the north? Who benefited the most from the South's destruction and the ability to have goods readily available?
yet the lincoln hater mob still demonize any actual libertarian that runs for office or stands against the current GOP stance. And by libertarians i'm not talking about the ones that are the socialists that run the L party and just want drugs.

Average person attends one American History class in 9th grade public school and forms their opinion around it. Guess knowledge doesn't count unless it's obtained from a college eh?
