We have a group chat titled "Books Read Thread." My wife, three daughters, mom and granddaughter are members. It's a friendly competition where we set a goal of how many books we would like to read each year on January 1st and see if we can achieve it by year's end. We also tally total pages each member reads.
My goal is usually 15 books per year and I usually achieve that or come close. I'm currently on my 11th book for the year and had read 3,212 pages when I finished book ten.
My 91-year-old mother reads the most, she has the time to.
A couple of months ago I discovered three books by Douglas Adams that I hadn't known about. He's one of my favorite authors for the Hitchhiker series. I read those and then started on some that were bought for me for by family.
When I catch up on those I'll start Ivan Doig's Montana trilogy recommended by our own White 17.
Eh...wot?

I'm on a Peter Hathaway Capstick kick. I've read all his "Death in..." series and he definitely takes some literary license in those. But " Warrior" and "The Last Ivory Hunter" are exceptional accounts about exceptional men.
Honor a Soldier. Be the kind of American worth fighting for.
