Here in Idaho. The Lava Wind Project approved last December by the Biden Administration's Bureau of Land Management would have constructed 231 wind turbines on over 57 thousand acres in Southern Idaho's BLM lands. Thankfully, common sense took over and the Trump Administration stopped this project. In Idaho Falls where I live, the hillsides are overwhelmed with these eyesores. To add salt to the wounds, none of the little energy they produce goes into Idaho. It all goes to California.

Cali. is a good place for it
I'd much sooner drive past a nuke plant on ten acres than miles and miles of those ugly things.

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

And I’d rather look at those windmills than to have to live next to anywhere they decide to store the toxic radioactive waste pilled up by that 10 ac plant. I will cede that massive corporate wind farms may not be the ideal way to utilize and harvest renewable wind derived energy.

We have wind turbines not to far from where I live and that electricity goes to Florida I don't understand why the electricity goes to a different state then where the turbines are located. $$$$$

If they can’t recoup the energy it takes to make them what’s the point then? If it’s a losing proposition from day 1 the rest is going through the motions of any gains for the environment. All dog and pony show no real gains really.

Politician family members in DC own the facilities that manufacture the components. The smallest turbines take 50 gallons of oil (gasp) to lubricate. Up to 300 gallons for larger turbines and they all leak eventually

Actually a 1000 MW would be a fair amount of power. Probably don't need this much power in idaho.

The only way wind farms make sense is for the tax credits (not tax deductions) that they create for big corporation like General Electric. They do not pencil-out ecomonically, they depreciate and become useless long before they pay for themselves. Huge scam on the taxpayers.

All wind farm projects are taxpayer funded. That’s the part that really wizzes me off. Most of idaho gets it electric power from hydroelectric which the taxpayers likely funded.

All the posts on this thread, seem to point to the same corrupt dictator , For respect of the administration of this site , I'll not name names . Just give the information , remember this land was taken over by the government just to put in a wind farm. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bundy_standoff

Manitoba Hydro learned their lesson building a couple wind farms. Won’t be doing that again, but we’ll buy a bit of power during peaks to help offset the load from a private entity……if they ever decide to go ahead with the project…..lol Good time to scrap it if they haven’t already invested too much.
