I use them and they work well for me. It allows me to run multiple cameras on a property with only one cell plan. I have only set them maybe 300 yards apart at the furthest and havent had any issues with signal strength. The cameras themselves functional well, the trigget speed seems good. It only sends the low resolution pictures over cell, if ypu want the high res you need to go pull the chips. The low res pictures are good enough for my purposes. Are there any particular questions that you have?

Thank you Nate
1) If you are in an area with no cell signal will the cameras still send their pictures to the home camera?
2) If the cameras will send their pictures to the home camera with out a cell, can you pull the home camera card and see all the phots from the different cameras?
3) Do the cameras seem to take and capture most of what gets in front of them?
4) Are the nighttime photos good?
5) I forgot this on, If you were running several cameras with one home station, if you got a second home camera can you take some of the cameras and get them to work totally seperate from the orginal home stations?

Its really hard to find anyone who runs these, thanks for the help

I ran 5 for about 2 years

#1 issue is they used C batteries and I was always hunting some or paying considerably more than AA's
#2 the cameras were pricey if you wanted to add a few
#3 I found Tactacam reveal. Cameras are cheaper, I run the basic plan which is $5 per camera for 250 pic (5 cams = 1250pic shared per month). I have yet to exceed my limit and a few I use on remote coyote sets and have had a coyote bouncing around getting his pic taken every time he moves for 8hrs or more.

If you are not just set on Cuddy I would suggest you look into Tactacam Reveal

I got Todd the info on Tacticam and l think he’s got 10 of the tacticam reveal pro 3.0 going on his farm.
He’s using rechargeable battery packs on some and solar chargers on others. He’s pretty happy with what he’s getting.
He can get a pic of anyone or anything at his front gate and each location he has a cam set up.

I run both tactacam and cuddlink. I use tactacams for security and on places I want instant pics - like for hog or coon shooting at all hours of the day or night - they do have to have cell service. I use the cuddelink system on trails, food plots, feed locations - mainly for deer and turkey where I dont need instant pics. Once or twice a day is enough. Only the cuddelink cell cam has to have service to send to you. I have some locations with no cell service and the remote cuddelinks still send to the cell cam. I have run up to 12 cuddelink cams at once for $250 dollars. My eight tactacams are right at $1000 per year.

Knock on wood - in five years of cuddelink, I have never had a camera quit me. I have had two tactacams go down in last five years.

You got the answers to you questions above.
They use D batteries, not C's at least all of mine. Some of mine hold 6 D batteries and some hold 4 D's. As with most other brands they have external battery packs and solar panels to extend time in the field. My oldest cameras are 5 years old or so and no issues so far.
They seem to capture most of what there is, but you wouldn't know unless you were there to see. They do seem to get less false triggers (like a branch blowing in the wind) than the cheap cameras my buddies have.

Here are a few night time low res pics from a few different cameras.

For anyone using cell cams, I recommend using a car battery to power them. Almost every brand has an external cable option and runs on 12 volts. The cables are generally a common barrel style connector which can be found on Amazon for $5 or less. I've even cut off the cables from household items like old cordless telephone plugins. I've been using sub par car batteries for years and can get almost a year of power on a old car battery before it needs charging. Even during the cold winter months ( Minn boy here).

I've been running Ridgetec cell cams for years and I love them. The latest model gives the option to run four 18650 batteries, AA's, external or all which is a game changer. These batteries are what power most cordless tool batteries, laptops, E-bikes, high power geek flashlights, etc. These lithium batteries can be recharged 3-500 times and are inexpensive at around 3-5 dollars/battery. The camera also gives the option to record videos. Which is where I have mine set. It will send a photo of the first frame of the video to my phone and I can decide if I want the video after viewing the photo. The plans are basically the same as most cell companies, 5000 photos/month is around $11, there are lower and higher plans also.

You folks have got me thinking that an “on-demand photo” or “real-time” monitoring feature could work for me I think to check my beaver float line.

Tactacam offers a “live View” with some models. I dont know how much extra that costs - but at basically $100 a year plus add ons, dont know how much a year you want to pay for multiple cameras. I also realize one saved trip to check traps might save you enough money to make it worthwhile

Thanks to all for the information. I have several tactacams and have had two die in a year. Tactacam is highly rated, mine pick up a cell signal when my phone will not. I put two on the same pole both looking at the same spot. I thought they might take the same pictures but they didn't. One of them didn't take my picture and I broadcast a bucket of corn in front of it. Not sure about other brandsbut tactacam will send me a picture every 12 hours, helps on knowing it is working.

The cuddelink cameras also have a time lapse mode that will send you pictures at a prescribed time. They also have something called Prime Time that will send you time lapse photos around sunrise and sunset, which can be helpful if you have it looking over a field or food plot.

I have been running several for about 18 months now. With the newest firmware install update 3.0 you can get higher resolution pictures sent to you. I think all your posted questions have been answered. I feel like I do miss some animals on the lower sensitivity settings, but you also can avoid getting 300 photos of piece of vegetation blowing in the wind. You can make a number of settings adjustments to field cameras from your phone or laptop without visiting the cameras. I only run mine on 4 D batteries and I usually get 3 months or slightly more on a set of batteries. Mine are all on my ground where I live so its easy enough to go swap out batteries when need be. Customer service has been top notch. I have talked to a good ol' English speaking American every time I have called with a question.
