Last winter I modified a bunch of 220s to a wooden trap pan and they worked but i didn't like them that much. Is there a way to use a piece of metal for them instead? I will continue searching the net. Thanks

F n T carries a metal pan to replace the wire trigger it would be undr body gripper universal parts

I have the expand a pans on my 220 and 120 belisle bodygrips and like them. FandT makes them now.

I took a doubled up piece of 1/4" hardware cloth of the appropriate size and just bent and threaded the trigger wires through it...

I saw one that you took the entire trigger off and the pan hooked on the jaw across from the dog jaw. The pan had a post that sat on the dog. When the pan was pressed it pushed the dog free. The pan sat way lower the way it was made.

Used political signs cut to size slid on trigger wires have worked pretty good and cheaper than metal lighter than wood

Sauvageau made one that attaches to one jaw then hooks on the other. That looked like a good pan but cannot find them anywhere now. It sounds like that is what you might have seen also MJM.

The one I saw was made by a trapper. It was all metal and one piece. The one side was rolled to slip over the jaw and be closed. The stud that pushed the dog was punched out on three sides and bent down. I really like the looks of it.

Mark, I have seen a few like that too...slick design I alway wondered about IF the jaws hit that trigger system would a guy just have to have another "system" in his pocket ready to go??
I know some of the guys that use the wooden pans/wire attachments operate that way.
I tried just bending the triggers down at a 90 degree bend and had numerous jaw/ trigger wire mishaps.
I went to the EXPAND-A-PAN that Chip Davis and son made and now F&T makes and haven't looked back....quality made.

Just an FYI.

MChewk I always figured some one would put them out on the market. I feel it is a much better design then a lot of them you see. Mainly for the amount of added room between the pan and top jaw.
