OK thanks. So how come you guys think it's just a marketing gimmick or another dead end? I was interested in it because it looks like it has a little more power and shoots a little flatter than the .22LR.

I know nothing of the 21 but would think one would just go 22 mag if u want to step up from 22 lr

They have tried to make a caliber to replace the 22lr but in the end they all fall short
Ammo prices are usually the end for newer replacement attempts
Find an ammo your 22lr likes and learn trajectory at different ranges
I know where mine will hit from 10 feet to 200 yards

It's an interesting concept, but with so many existing 22's around and the low cost of the ammo, I'd be surprised if it gets popular...like said, a 17 HMR, or a 22 magnum fills pretty much every other need.

It's just another feeble attempt to go lead free. If they can get the manufacturers on board they will push a ban on all lead ammo.

On paper it is the solution to the lead free bans and solves the "dirty ammo" carry over from older heel based outside lubed lead bullets. But after 165 years and millions of guns later the 22lr is pretty much fossilized in stone now. It would take an outright ban on lead ammo across the board to make it happen. It may come to that but not any time soon.

JMO, the 17hm2, with a fmj, was the answer for flatter trajectory without blowing things up. But the 22lr is the same reason 22wmr/22win auto/5mm magnum/17hmr/17hm2/17 aguila never went completely mainstream. Save for the 22wmr and 17hmr for medium varmints the 22lr will do all you need it to do.

Imo they went for the completely wrong customer base. It's whole deal was shooting non lead bullets rimfire bullets and being super accurate. Average.22lr guy really didn't care ... You know who would and wouldn't mind paying ? The rimfire ELR guys the ones legit hand loading 30gr cutting edge all copper bullets . Honestly if they made it more of a .22 mag deal and maybe some high BC fancy non lead bullets they would have had a market

You're right, there. The target game guys made the creedmore marketable.

Nothing I'd buy, but ya never know what people will go.for.

There's A reason some cartridges are obsolete when new ones took hold.

Yeah. But I've heard that the .22 WMR puts bigger holes in small critters which isn't good if I want to eat them. I already have a .17 HMR and haven't yet found a bullet that doesn't blow squirrels' heads sky high when I hit em.

Yeah. I have a few .22 rifles, but one of them is a single shot, which takes too long to get off another shot if I need one. Then I have a .22/20 gauge over/under combo gun, but that one takes too long to reload, too. Plus, I can't put a scope on that one if I want to fire the shotgun barrel. Then I have a Savage semi-auto, but for some reason it always jams, or doesn't even fire. So, really, I'm looking for a new gun... One that is either bolt action, semi auto, or lever action. And since I already have those .22s and also a .22LR/.22 WMR revolver, I've been looking at different calibers.

Remington and Federal. I've cleaned it several times, and after I clean it the first couple of rounds go fine, but then starts acting wacky again.
