Savell, why is there so little public hunting land in Texas (given the size of the state)?

Ohio is after the 10th of November.
Beaver/ otter is 26th of December .
Used to start trapping fox in mid October , coon about the same time.
IMHO coon just a little later, fox is mostly fine, muskrat and mink is good at that time, but beaver and otter should be late November , early December.
We don't have a spring beaver season.

I’m at 3750’. I start on coyotes October 20. I run up here on the prairie until a few days before Thanksgiving then move down to lower elevation the first week of December.

Trail cameras and fresh snow have broke a lot of trapper’s hearts.

I have been drying dirt for a month. But I’m no where near ready for coyotes and cats. Won’t lay the first trap for them till mid November. Been running a small coon line around the house and farm all summer.

Rob...naw..he ain't. I live in the state and am nowheres near being one of those folks. To find them; you got to go to the southern part of Louisiana. Even the folks in the northern part of the state and part of the middle aren't. See, I know you have heard of the Mason-Dixon Line. We have our own version called the Boudin Curtain. The line for this is a bit below Alexandria.

ps..New Orleans is a totally different country. We'd like to cut it out and give it back to France..if they would take it.

Oct 25th for water animals. Coyotes are pretty much whenever I have time, season never closes on private ground and the value even on good hides is very low.

Yes, I’m about 3 miles east of the Mason-Dixon Line.

I was just mostly messing with that rascal from east Texas. Thanks for the information. Good to know. It’s like south Florida. Where you gotta drive north to get to the south. We have a county we would
Like to give to Pennsylvania and we just be left alone.

I know most folks from LA are decent. I got a few good buddies from there. Wasn’t trying to disparage anyone.

I’ll check out the boudin curtain. Sounds delicious if I’m being honest.
