Took one of the grandsons out this morning to pick some corn. We grabbed 12 dozen, to blanch and freeze. Bodacious corn, doing well this year. There’s about 150 dozen in this field. Gonna pick a bunch and let the six little grandkids sell it in front of the house. I looked at two stands this week, they are $10 and $8 a dozen. What’s the going price in your area?

Was 8 early in the season but down to 5, 4 if you buy 10 or more dozen.

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

5.00 is the average there's 1 guy that grows about 70 acres of it and gets 8.00 a dozen i bought a dozen just to try and me and the wife wasn't impressed.i put in a small patch of ambrosia and it was the best tasting we had out of any we had bought. Couple guys swear serendipity is the sweetest sweet corn but I've never had it.

Kandy Korn is my favorite variety. But it won’t hold long on the stalk when it ripens. Bodacious will give you nearly a week.

My corn patch is done for the year.

Local guy had a truck bed full of Incredible he was selling for a dime an ear. I cannot grow it for that.

I think the going rate is a quarter an ear $3/doz.

I have 3 plots of a about 120 plants per plot. Looking very good this year. Finally got some needed rain the last week. Have not bought any corn around here so don't know the going price.

No, I can’t grow corn for 10 cents an ear. I have that much in costs, without my time. The Amish and Mennonites sell the cheapest produce here. They were selling it at the Belleville livestock auction last Wednesday for $5 a dozen.

Most of the farms here in western Pa that run their own markets are selling corn for $8- $10 a dozen. One was a dollar an ear!

$5-$7 around here
I help a neighbor with the coon control at his corn patch, and I can pick all I want
I guess with the time I have involved, maybe $3 a dozen is what it cost me
I picked about 75 dozen this year
I can mine in pints and a few quarts
Don't care for the frozen stuff

I plant my corn on a county owned property. Trapping or shooting coons would be frowned upon. I rely on a solar charged electric fence. One strand 6 inches of the ground. I use my t stakes from beaver trapping, and 8” sleeves of 2” pvc pipe for insulators. They won’t cross over it. Just have to watch for fallen stalks on the fence wire.

The guy that owns the local grocery store grows it on his farm and sells it at the store for $4 a dozen. I have seen other places at $6 to 8$.

About done here. One more pick and that's it. Only planted enough for fresh eats and for easing hunting access. Too buy it here price is around $7/dz. But imo its really hard to find it before its too old. As hot as we are now a couple days makes a huge difference in maturity. Obsession is the variety I grow. Its been fantastic this year. Well worth the effort, hope to go big next year. Hard to believe but in another week all I will have left is the broom corn I am growing for seed, and spraying/inter seeding some native grasses. Broom corn is about 8-1/2 feet tall and headed out.
