If I drink a large mcdonalds cup of coffee at 6am I can fall alseep just fine at 8pm but I wake up at 1am like I just had the best nap of my life.

Once I drink coffee like that it may take a week for me to sleep right again... After a week or more I start sleeping through the night again.

People think I'm crazy but I happen to think its a key reason why there are so many people that have poor sleep patterns but they think they fall asleep fine and never put 2 and 2 together.

"Oh I don't have that problem" but then go on to say "I wake up at 4am every morning and cant sleep"...

p.s. everyone at the factory that I knew that drank energy drinks (everyday for years) ended up in the hospital with irregular heart beats.

Just some random thoughts I guess.

A monster energy is worth 2 8 oz cups of coffee in caffeine

Within 5 minutes of getting up- I am drinking coffee---when I am headed to bed at night.coffee is my last drink--{ drink it throughout the day--my wife is amazed at how fast I fall asleep at night.

I drink a lot less coffee now that I retired. When I was working at the ethanol plant, I could easily drink 3 pots a shift. One of the guys took a sip of my coffee and asked if I was in AA. I told him "No". He told me I would fit right in.

ergo, bibamus.

I’d say the coffee sold today is weaker then it was 10 years ago the wife and I do the 2 coffee scoops that you got with your purchase years back don’t see the little scoopers any more. About a year or so ago we started adding an extra half scoop to the usual 2 that we’ve done for years. Same brand, same blend in the same Bunn coffee maker no changes.

Makes me wonder if they are cutting corners to save money hoping nobody will notice the changes. The stronger beans might be going to the higher priced fancy blends who knows.

So I was working overtime with an old guy that should be retired but just when he got there the wife decided grass was greener after over 35 years. So he is still working. Great older fellow. He tells me he used to drink a lot of coffee but had not in a few years when I was making som in my small 5 cup pot. I asked if he wanted som he said sure. I told him i make It stronger he said that is how he likes it. Well he drank I and did say I was no kidding I like it strong but I didn't think any more about it tell 2 days later day.

Apparently according to the guy he worked with daily After drinking that coffee he couldn't get to sleep all night and called in the next day. Poor fellow has never asked or taken any coffee from me again.

Just sitting hear and that random thought pattern came to mind must have been subconsciously rolling it around. So maybe its not places going cheap making weak coffee I think looks more like tea but I must make my coffee much stronger.

different prospective I guess.

So how should I look at it mine is strong or everyone else makes theirs weak?

Is the cup half full or half empty?

I always see the cup 100% full unless it is in a vacuum. its 50% liquid 50% air.

I mentioned to my wife about the coffee being weaker now she agreed that the 2.5 scoop was on the wimpy side now.
