I'm surprised at the number of people picking Culvers. Just a smashed out thin patty or two on the flat top. I was never impressed with their burgers.

OR::: Two Large Fries, One Chilli and add Two Cheese cups and some Jalapeno peppers. on to the fry order. Awesome Chilli cheese fry made on the run.

They have the best fries too. I'll have to give your "recipe" a try.

Primantis Bro's.

Not from the many "chains" around, but from the original in the Warehouse district in Pittsburgh.

I loved the little old lady that waitressed there.

Your burger would come out with fries and coleslaw on it. If you tried to order it without either of those 2 she'd tell ya to leave, and move on to the next person in line.

It was designed for the many truckers that wanted an easy meal to eat in their trucks without having multiple containers for everything.

I do like 5 Guys, but dang they got real pricey.

Back when McDonald's cheeseburgers were on the dollar menu. Yup they were small , but only $1.

Just before that , they actually had McDonald's double cheeseburgers on the dollar menu , again , small , but I swear they tasted better because it was only $1

Like the saying goes ' food tastes better when it's free '

Not quite free , but I ate a ton of them back then.

Haven't had a McDonald's cheeseburger in a long time. They don't taste as good now that they cost $3 plus for the single cheeseburger.

The hot apple pie wasn't bad for $1 too. Same with the small fries for $1. Add the any size soda for $1 , it was a slam dunk deal.

Can’t do McDs here they can’t get anything right no matter how simple you make the order. A double burger plain is a bridge too far like it’s rocket science. If by some miracle they did get it right it’s drenched in salt/pepper making it uneditable. I tried ordering a double plain when I was out on town it had everything on it I just don’t go there it bad for my blood pressure not the salt but the service.

Culver’s gets it right consistently and it’s always a quality burger both the fries and cheese curls are tasty. Best reliable quick burger on the road. When I’m in MO I do the Steak and shake burger. Freddy’s is a little over salted for my taste.

I like a cheeseburger or California burger with a raw, slice of Vadalia onion.

Got a photo from a speeding camera in the mail. I immediately sent it back - way too expensive and really poor quality.

I have found little dives scattered around that I prefer but if you made me go with a big fast food chain I'd get Sonic, Culvers, or In and Out.

Yep,

Even when traveling I ask the locals at a gas station where's a good restaurant to eat at.

When hunting out of state the mom and pop places are the best value the food chain restaurants find creative ways to give you less and less. Heck they can slice a single slice of bacon so many different ways you can see through the slices.

Bacon Cheeseburger from Miss Judy's in Waldron, AR. Get it with fries & a custom mixed cherry cola. The best. If you're ever traveling US71 make a stop. Its old school, local place with inside & outside seating but beats any chain.
If I had to go with a chain I guess Hardee's or Chili's makes a decent burger. Hog Wild in Billings was pretty good. Can't stand McD's or Steak--n-shake, whataburger, etc.

as far as best fast food burger , Hardees is darn good

I might have just eaten too many butter burgers , or rather Double Deluxe , it has been a while they are also good

probably could insert the name of a mess of WI bars that make a great burger also really good and in it's own class as they don't have beer at culvers or Hardees and they look at you funny when you bring your own sixer in.

I think my favorite not made at home burger is Pete's Hamburgers Prairie Du Chien WI , they are not your ordinary burger from a restaurant they are still made they same way they have been for decades at least.

At one time Hardee’s had the perfect chicken sandwich but they could not leave it alone it got to the point if you went there a month later they changed the chicken sandwich product to something else. At one point they put 2 little chicken strips on a bun and that was the sandwich they offered. Culver’s was right next door so I went there instead.

It's actually edible... for a chicken burger.

LOL that bun is pink, isn't it? grin Here, Burger King did a whopper on a BLACK bun once. I don't think it was real popular.

The best chicken sandwich Hardee’s had was an actual real full breast piece then it was cut in half then came “ this is as cheap as we can make it.” LOL
