Last time he posted was last year when doing a job in Tx. he had not gotten paid for
on time.
Said he had gotten an offer in Australia that would bring big money.

Has anyone heard from him at all. l enjoyed his posts alot. He always gave info on his sets and bait & lures or urine he used. He and Tejas were rolling back then all the time. They both put out a lot of good info and Tejas still does.

I wondered if he actually went to Australia like he mentioned. I always enjoyed his posts. Same with Tejas.

There has been many a night when l would come home and the first thing l would do is get on here to see what kind of damage steeltraps and TEJAS had done to the yotes now. Them two were like parvo and distemper combined to a yote. And they love to share their knowledge to all who would ask questions to help us learn more and be better trappers.

I didn't have a clue as to what a flat set was before I read Steeltraps threads. I had to read about 85 pages in two weeks to follow what TEJAS was talking about. After 85 pages, I know to give them what they expect to see. I learned so much from both of them here on Paul's site. I am on the hunt for a moose rib bone. So I can be like Steeltraps. I had to get on google earth to find some sand in Alaska. I have a lot of practice to do before I set flat sets for wolves. But you can bet on me gang setting them like TEJAS does. I sure hope Steeltraps gets back online soon. I have been waiting for pictures of him catching Dingo's or something down there. He's probably having way too much fun to come back.

Some guys get burned out after continuous runs in the field and mix in some bad experiences that just get under your skin. He may be taking a break and recharging or just doesn't want to deal with social media any longer. That life style takes a special kind of fella to cope and keep motivated.

Steel traps was/is a standup guy. I had never set a MJ600 and had some question's about them and also the lures he was using. He told me to send him my address and he would send me a little lure sample. About a week went by and I got a box with a mj600, 3 or 4 bottles of James Luceros lures. About 100 of the bamboo chop stick spikes he used in his flat sets that he put his lure on and a retractable lure applicator he made from a car antenna. Also several small dropper applicator bottles and a spray bottle. I took that mj600 and caught a coyote in it 2 day later the first night I set it out.

I’m hoping he will come back around. I’d like a good story about Roos being the equivalent to a possum and how to keep them from clogging up the perfect flat set for a mutt.
Or how to make a flat set and not get bit by a funnel web spider or a king brown. Crikey!!!

I can relate to this.

It has been a couple weeks since I talked to him last. He was good then and still in Texas Trapping, coyotes and lions.
