She was not a legit threat and could have easily been arrested by police on either side of the wall. She was murdered and it was covered up to support a narrative.

She was part of a group that was smashing the barricaded doors to the Speaker's Lobby, actions I don't condone. She was climbing through a broken glass in one of the doors (after being boosted up there by two guys). People in the crowd saw the cop Michael Byrd standing in a side doorway with his gun drawn and were warning the rest of the crowd about it.

I don't know if she saw the guy with the gun or not but he would have been hard to miss being only a few feet away and folks yelling "he's got a gun." I suspect she saw him but didn't believe he'd shoot an unarmed women.

Most cops would have lost their jobs and possibly faced criminal prosecution for shooting an unarmed women. Byrd's actions were deemed justifiable.

Another move to distract his flock. Whatever. A waste of time and energy.

A certain percentage of this country will never believe the plain as day footage of this gal acting like an animal at the Capital--just like the blacks who still think Michael Brown and George Floyd were just innocent homeboys. The exact same mentality.

A debate can certainly be had on whether she should have been shot or her head cracked open with a night stick. In my non-law enforcement opinion (just like your opinions), the rioting mob probably pushes the shooting to justified. Especially a rioting mob chanting it wanted to hang people.

I've seen the video you posted previously. There was no violence towards any person by the demonstrators. There were three cops standing right in front of them between them and the Speaker's Lobby they wanted access too. Were any of them harmed in anyway? The answer is no, they were not.

They moved out of the way. After Babbitt was shot the tactical officer raised his weapon perhaps thinking it was a demonstrator that shot. He probably couldn't understand why a police officer would open fire on an unarmed women showing no violence towards any individual.

The cop had to stop a riot. She just happened to be the first rioter who crawled through that smashed window. The rest would have followed--but chickened out when she got shot. Like I said above, a night stick to the head might have worked too--but considering the other rioters would have followed.....the shooting was justified.

Rioting alone does not justify a death sentence. The amount of force used should be the minimal amount to address the threat.

Video clearly shows there were multiple levels of engagement that could have been utilized before the use of deadly force. And we now know that there were multiple undercover law enforcement in the crowd that were egging folks on and may of actually triggered the riot is concerning. The level of participation may never be known.

But until folks like Ray Epps are prosecuted and put in jail, there is no justice.

Cops are in jail for G. Floyd overdosing because he swallowed a lethal dose when they tried to arrest him and led to real riots, yet people are now on the cops side on this one.
