The reason they fired on the boat is because there was 11 identified terrorists on board.

From the article:

"He added that the U.S. military had identified the crew as members of Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, which the U.S. designated a terrorist group in February."

Yes, they were hauling drugs. I know we've had many threads on the waste of money that is the drug war. Does a hot war change things?

I will for me. I'm tired of talk talk talk and meanwhile our country is saturated with dangerous drugs.

I sure hope Juan Valdez, or his donkeys, weren't on board.

Going into Chicago and cleaning up that place would likely hurt the cartels even worse. I would imagine Chicago is a major distribution center for the cartels. Likely why Illinois politicians don't want it cleaned up.

Ask the gang that was recently designated as a terrorist org……..it certainly doesn’t hurt to light em up every now and then. They got piles of money & weapons, but they have to be reminded that to the US Forces, they’re nothing. I’m sure it was small arms fire and nothing crazy expensive. Let ‘em have some fun.

Drug dealers are okay with the risk of being arrested. They think the reward outweighs the risk. They know they'll get out eventually and that with a good lawyer and the right people bribed, they might quickly get out. Now that being obliterated by our military, which is the best on the planet, is a strong possibility, there's going to many fewer people willing to smuggle drugs into the US. Severe, permanent consequences make most, if not all, people rethink their potential choices.

And apparently Maduro is mad that we are killing the drug dealers.

I would like to see a play by play.

Seeing their little heads turn to mist would be a fine past time.
