...I married the person I refer to on here as Wonderful Wife. Yup, September 11, 1982. Until 2001 we celebrated our Wedding like most folks do, on that date. Since 2001, though, we have chosen to delay our celebration a day or so to not shadow the impact of that day on us, and our nation. We plan to treat ourselves to a great meal and a great day tomorrow. I predict a big Ribeye is in our future.
We learned last Thursday we have other things to celebrate as well. Her Surgeon at Mayo-Rochester told us that she is now considered cancer-free for two years, and thus the chance of return is extremely low and reducing every day. As many of you know she did battle with two types of cancer for a couple years, which was more problematic because she was diagnosed with MS about 25 years ago. The whole saga took quite a toll on her but I learned what a tough, determined, strong woman I was lucky enough to marry. The wishes and encouragement we received from others, including the Trapperman family, made a huge difference and helped us through a very tough couple of years.
I consider myself to be a very lucky man to have found her and spend all these years of life with her. Of course it has not always been easy, but in total it has all been good. We have always made a point of laughing together each and every day, and it has helped us though a lot.
Thanks for letting me tell a little bit of our story.
