I hate mine sometimes. It's heavy, bulky and loud.

My shoulders both wore out on me. I had surgeries on both in 2012 and 2013. I Haven't been able to pull a bow for years. In Utah you can only use a crossbow for archery season for medical limitations. I had to get a letter from my doctor to get the permit. I wouldn't hunt deer any more if we did't enjoy the meat. I have not shot a deer with a rifle for years. At least harvesting meat with a crossbow keeps it interesting.

So, Tuesday at 8:30 in the morning I looked out the kitchen window and there was a 2X2 eating my tomatoes. I grabbed my crossbow and went out my front door. I sneaked over between some trees on the brow of the hill looking down on the garden boxes. I eased up where I could see him and he was facing me still eating my tomato. He looked up at me and I drilled him through the heart. He ran about twenty yards and piled up. He wont eat any more peas or cucumbers or tomatoes and we will enjoy the meat.

That's my back porch. He was standing in my garden about 20 yards to the left.

It was easy. And I slept just fine after killing that buck with a crossbow. In my opinion crossbows are an ethical archery option that should be legal for every archery season. Crossbows are perfect for senior citizens, beginners, ladies or anyone else that just prefers to hunt with them. Let the haters keep hating or let them grow up and live and let live.

Each day is a gift. LIVE IT with gratitude.

Dan I always said there is more than one way to eat out of your garden. Not many catch what I mean.

Turned my food into food for my food this week also. Took my kids a minute to figure that one out.( Squirrel guts went into the meat bird(chicken) tractor. ) Chickens went crazy.

Nice job on the buck sir. You can't get one much closer to house so that works out. Now you'll probably have more heads exploding that you shot it in your garden but oh well.

If you'd left him grow another 3 2/5 years he'd a really
messed up the garden.
Good trade.

Congrats on getting meat with your crossbow, however, shooting any animal from your kitchen would hardly qualify as hunting. Harvest might be a better word.

Just doing what I want now.

lol, yep.

Leasing up land and posting it, planting a garden on it and having cameras on every other tree and knowing them by name, but worried about what someone uses to shoot them. crazy

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

I could care less i hunt with a longbow you hunt with a compound with letoff sights and a whisker bisquit
Lets not pretend compounds are a huge step away from a crossbow.
Im not going to rally for everyone to use a recurve or longbow.
Put on your big girl underwear and deal with it.

Go spend more time in the field and learn to adapt like everyone else has

Everyones worried about what the other guy is doing, meanwhile each game commission meeting is stacked with hunters complaining about other hunters, but could care less that the animal rights groups want the entire system gone.

Well now I see no difference between seting in a box blind or shooting out of my bathroom window Having done both. Just happens one of my houses happens to be in a good location. So in your opinion its not hunting to take advantage of that and I should walk out back and sit in a stand in the back yard, would that be hunting?

I would expect most eastern hunting is a far cry from hunting out west and in Alaska.

…. I like to slip up on them while they’re bedded and ease a suppository up there butt

… then at legal light when they’re hunched over I go in at a full run with a Comanche war holler and a wild turkey whiskey bottle

… it ain’t pretty but it’s effective

How i got my wife.

Makes 3 of us. It's how I feel too. You do you and leave others alone and we'll get along fine. It's pretty simple but lost on many.

Hope everyone is ready for deer season. Or if it’s started for you, that you are out there having a great time.

Ehd is hiting my farm smelling dead deer in several places. Going squirrel hunting/ scouting in the morning in public land an hor and 15 min away. Found 3 ehd dead deer there last year during youth seasion. Hopefully its not hit there and population has recovered some.

Youth is the last weekend of the month in Indiana. Bow Oct 1st.
Probably need to get my name on the list for another cow or two this year with ehd hiting hard.

Man, hope it doesn’t hit too hard for you.

It’s hitting Maryland hard too apparently.

Haven’t seen anything bad here on my part of Delmarva.

Good luck out there when you do start up.
