Im hunting 5 year old bucks here that are the size of a 2 year old in Illinois.

But, a man has to accept what he's blessed with.

Does a feeder become a bait station once you shoot who ever is coming in to feed? Never tried one or sat in a tree.

Not sure I understand your question.

I have never killed a buck at a feeder. Have arrowed a few does.

I have a couple gravity/free choice type feeders but Im phasing them out due to CWD being discovered 40 miles north of me this past fall.

Im setting the spin feeders up on skids so I can easily move them occasionally to new sites with clean soil.

Here much of the state is a deer feeder with all the crop they grow. It is not legal to bait or feed deer in much of the state now due to CWD. It was a big thing for bow hunters here before CWD took off.

CWD was just discovered here in Ga. DNR is not changing the feeding/baiting regs. They've made some recommendations as to how & when to feed/bait. Spin feeders and/or broadcast over a larger area. Also recommend limiting feeding to only when season is open.

Our lead deer biologist says no need to stop baiting as deer make physical contact with each other daily, so it doesn't really matter about bait sites. It takes nearly an ounce of injested saliva from an infected deer to transmit enough prions to infect another deer.
