150.00 set up fee

100.00 per head

They don't like it...they can do it themselves

Plus .65 cents per mile

How good of a beaver trapper are you?

If you're not very experienced its not fair to the landowner to charge them by the day. So, you should charge them by the beaver. $50 to $100 per beaver is a fair price and gives the customer more bang for his buck. You dont catch = You don't get paid.

If you are an experienced beaver trapper then charge by the day. $100 to $200 per day is fair if you're skilled as you should be in & out of there in 5 to 7 days. Landowner is paying for efficiency and completeness of the job.

I am a new-ish trapper. Charging by the beaver was what I was thinking I wasn't sure how much to charge per beaver though, so that was helpful swamp wolf thankyou!
Another question, how far is too far to go trap? if it is a 15min drive should I charge more for travel time?

I would per head then. Plus try work in getting permission for the season. I have got a lot of country to trap this way.

I try to limit my drives to 60 mile circumference of my residence. But, Im retired and a few beaver jobs is all I do...other than deer management.

You can increase your per beaver charge as needed.

that makes sense on the upping the per beaver charge. I am in high-school and working a part time job so my time is quite limited. I'm also going to be duck and dear hunting so there goes more of my free - trapping time

If you are short on time to do the job right you are probably better off just turning the job down.

I'm not necessarily short on time enough that I will not do the landowner right just short enough that I wanted to ask questions and avaluate my options

Being where using cage traps that need checking daily here a daily trap check fee is included, which covers cost of round trip time and fuel, 150 set up75.00 per critter here on East side the the Socialist State of WA.

I don’t recommend the per beaver price structure in most situations, Risk of you not making money or the landowner questioning integrity of catch numbers. Flat rate billed for most jobs in closed environments plus materials, mileage, and service warranty. Jobs on larger open watersheds for control purposes are billed time, materials, and mileage. You have to determine what compensation you need to work and what your local market will pay. I have travelled as far as 3 hours one way, however within 1 hour each way is normal. There are a lot of trappers charging to trap beaver because there is no profit in fur trapping beaver.

You guys are cheap, here in the land of fruits and nuts they will pay a bunch. If I drive very far I charge a premium.

Not if under water,,,, it is 3 days ….unless the laws changed.
I don’t do special permits anymore either. Comstock traps are easier then body grips…

I agree, but I'd go $200 on the setup fee.
