Does anyone here use Archery Talk? I was cruising their classifieds and saw a tree stand that I've been looking for. Unfortunately they don't allow private messages for new users until you make 20 posts. I don't understand how that helps anyone, but I don't have 20 posts worth of anything to say. I literally sat down to try and make 20 posts and I just can't do it on principal.

I just want to send this guy my e-mail and give him full price for his stand. If anyone would be willing to send him my phone number or e-mail, send me a PM.

Just make the posts. Ask anything. Tuning questions. Arrow spine. Etc etc.....what kind of stand?

If I thought that the requirement helped in any way I would do it. And honestly I don't have any interest or care in tuning questions, arrows, or whatever. I shoot the same bow since I started. I just want to give a guy some hard earned money. Don't see how preventing me from doing that helps their membership.

Probably a step to weed out scammers unfortunately everything simple is made harder for security reasons it’s a sign of the times.

Helps establish some credibility with the community. There's been so many scams on classified sections of forums all over. I had someone hack my golfwrx account last year and scammed someone for quite a bit of money. I was lucky enough to get my account back because I had credibility.

I get it. Hard for me to understand how a seller could get scammed when they're receiving money from PayPal?

Not everyone uses PayPal and scammers change the game up it avoids time wasted find another stand or do the dances it’s your choice.
