I used to trap rats in a grain elevator, back in the early '70's.
They are smart.
We'd set in travel ways.
Catch a rat and that would be it.
Had to move the trap to catch another one.

I always hated those buggers.
But back in the day they were worth a quarter ea., thats over $2.00 in todays money.

Rats are intelligent. they are neophobic too, they are wary of new things in their established environment.

I agree with BP when he says,

Every thing is about the same as last year as far as attractiveness to my place for rats. In 2023-24 I caught zero. There were no rats. We do have neighbors that feed feral cats and others who have chickens. Need I say more?


My fear of moving stairs is escalating!
