Why so many ticks?

Short video on why so many ticks.

Just my experience but I burn chunks of my property every year spring and fall.
About 20% prairies and 80% woods.
My woods is being managed to a more open woodland that is fire dependent.

This year I had one tick on me.
I'm outside alot, cutting firewood, doing habitat improvements, hunting morels and just walking around, just about daily.

As far as I'm concerned warming climate is a ridiculous cause. As a kid ticks were unheard of in the warmer southern 1/2 of WI, you had to go to the colder northern 1/2 to get a tick.
Now they are statewide.

Most say it's the demise of the red fox.

Quite ironic to the fact that I grew up in the warmer southern states and ticks were part of life.

We have always had ticks, but our population has seemed to mirror our deer population.

Ticks seem like few here in spring but never have seen one summer or fall. Nothing to be concerned about here.
