I believe in states where it gets freezing lure choice changes during the season. But like Seldom stated it can change every year especially with coyote. Our cat season is late so something on the louder side like Gusto has worked for me. Coyote I have a few I go to. Yodel Dog, Gusto or even an old time favorite Hawbakers Coyote 100, or a friend makes one with all coyote glands that works also. Beaver for bait on the cats or I pick up road kill deer and save all the scrap from butchering deer for the use in blind sets.

In Vermont, I’ve had fairly good luck with Hiawatha Valley and a touch of gusto. Works on both coyotes and cats.

Coyotes- powder river bait, I like a mink gland lure.

Cats Kaatz bros red label bait, magic marten lure.

Seth, (Yes sir) on here makes one of the best baits I’ve used. It’s right up there with the original RK Predator bait. Powder River Paste Bait was always my favorite but this is right up there with it. It’s different but it’s there.

I can’t even get into lure. Lol.

My go to in Indiana for Coyotes is Top Dog Bait and Vixen Elixir lure from Hoosier Trappers Supply. #2 is a scent egg in a clump of grass or weeds that is by itself with some Wind Walker.

Coyotes- Graham’s Super Bonanza lure and beaver or buck nuts

Marines are just fanatical is all. I love my Army brothers but we’re all built differently. But, there are also some Marines I’d trade in for some soldiers I’ve met. I guess we all have our good and bad.
