Whats everyone using for 120 Conibear. I looked at building boxed but looking for other ideas that may be better value wise. I have seen people use 6in pipe and old newspaper boxes but havent found any those for sale reasonable. Just looking for ideas.

I have, I use conibear pans on the trap and screen the back of the box so it can be seen through. Have caught mink this way. But not alot of them.

There were some trapping suppliers selling newspaper boxes but I don't seem to be able to find them now....

Continental Products is where I got most of my newspaper tubes from. Pricey, but you only buy them once.

Plus they stack nice for storage and transport.

You didn't tell us what you are trying to trap.

Google Newspaper Route tubes if you want plastic mailboxes. You can make super light backpack ones out of cardboard or chicken wire. Plastic flower pots work good and are cheap or free. Some guys make metal cone shaped covers and put the trap under.

I prefer wood boxes. You can make the box fit your trap better. Add some screen to the back, put in a screen for bait if you want, add trap attachment to the box, add a roof over the front and a little overhang front and rear to secure the box with screws.

My mink boxes have a round entrance hole. My marten boxes are wide open but fit the trap. Both have screen on the back, 1/4" hardware cloth to keep the mice and shrews from entering from the rear. Live bait inside the box usually.

Milk jugs. They are free.

120 Belisle with Expanda Pans. Screen on back and a second screen inside to keep mice from getting the bait. The second screen is just cut to friction fit. Pull it out and put it back in with needle- nose pliers. More stackable than a square box. Deadly for marten, ringtail, spotted and striped skunks, and feral cats (beware where you set them). I haven't tried them on mink but I think a longer more tunnel-lookng box might be more enticing for them.

I have a bunch of route master boxes that are new. $10 ea plus shipping. Send me a PM if you are interested. I would guess I have at least 6o of them.

I use 1 gal planting pots. I can carry a bunch of them. I need them to be space saving and light doing 5-10 mile skis lines. Just an idea

I was asking the same question a few weeks ago. After looking around, in my area, 1x6 pine was the best value.

Six inch black drain tile, for the back I heated it a bit and squeezed and wired it shut, it looks round in the back and there’s enough of an opening to allow smell through but not let the smallest weasel through. In front, cut some slots and a 110 or 120 body grip fits perfectly in the corrugations. Drill a hole half way back to stake right through the tile to hold the cubby down and wire the trap of to. To bait tie your bait with wire and a long enough length to reach the hole in the back, pull it through and wrap around stake also. Most of mine are were around 18” but make whatever you want, you get a bunch out of a 100’ roll of tile.

My boxes nest similar to the mailboxes. Here is a 120 box inside a 160 box for transport. Carry handle and a hole to re-lure. Open back that even a Wolverine would struggle to defeat.

You got to build more than one…

I have stacks of them ! Even pink ones if Chi-Chi wants to take a stab at Marten trapping !

Them are dandy boxes 2poor, looks like 3/4” pine and 1/2” plywood? A computerized plasma table to the backs?

I believe a CNC router cut the back screens. My Spring Beaver partner runs a sign shop. Makes me aluminum coni-pans also !

Looks like Pine may be the way I go., With Skunk prices being up I want to try to catch quite a few of them.
