For those that have used both, opinion?

I've pretty much settled on fangs but always looking for that something better, I guess. I just don't see that much difference but I haven't handled the spears yet. Possibly easier to pull?

fangs turn over much more quickly. I would often have the spears pull out of the ground without turning over.

I kind of suspected that might happen. That bend on the fangs pretty much grabs and holds on the first good tug.

Never heard of spears but have had zero issues with fangs

Other than trying to retrieve them

If by spears you mean super stakes, they are very good. Only problem I’ve had is pulling them in frozen ground, I’ve broken HD 5 chain trying to get them out. Fangs work great too, but I always have to fix them after pulling them.

The high desert spears was one of if not the original disposable stake. Most every other ones that followed were copies with some modification.

The first earth anchor was the Butera spade stake.

Spears, aka High Desert Spears, are available from no-bs lures.

From pics, they look to be a touch smaller than wolf fangs and might be a bit easier to pull. But I wouldn't expect by much. Using an auger the fangs pop right out.

I got some brand that was slightly larger than the fangs

Had to modify my driver a tad but they work just as good

If I fold one pulling it, I pound it back in shape and mark it so I know it was previously bent.

Cable gets cut after it is used twice.
May not be necessary but I don't want to keep reshaping them and weakening them and then Mr Coyote is gone with my trap
