A MD that works in our local hospital grew up about 25 miles from here. A local, well-liked RN used this MDs license to write prescriptions for her dad twice. Very illegal. The MD had to turn it into the state to protect her license. The RN was fined 2000 by the State Nurses Board but allowed to keep practicing. Her friend wrote a letter to the hospital board saying she (the MD) wasnt professional with her patients. The board had a meeting and defended the RN. All the local nurses and another MD kicked it under the rug and treat the MD like crap so she turned in her 90 day notice. Now theres a go Fund me for the RN to raise money for her fine. Shes from a wealthy family Ridiculous Thoughts?

The RN should lose her license. 2x. My daughter changed jobs partly becuse the place she was working had a lot of pressure to do things in a way that could cost her her nursing license. The othe part was she is getting a lot more experience and exposure to several areas working in the hospital. Pay cut was worth it.

MD is going to find a better job, hospital is out one doctor. Nurse got lucky with only a fine and probably probation.
If the nurse was that well liked ( especially if the nurse was competent ), the MD probably didn't want to report it; but, comes down to you or me type of thing. Not sure I would want to be the next MD that nurse would be working for though ... matter of trust.
Sure do miss the days when doctors had private practices and made house calls.

The perp has been here for 30 years. Her friend that wrote the letter to the board has been here 25 years. They're both good nurses but very underhanded and intimidating. Small town politics.

Hospital politics suck. Little story.
My wife was a home hospice health aide for 11-1/2 years. When the hospital decided to go from 8 (I think) to just two aides, my wife figured they would keep her. Only one other aide had more experience. She got canned because she didn't have enough experience. They did keep a young lady with 6 months of experience. The young lady was the future daughter-in-law of one of the hospital administrators.

My wife had training as a medication aide, wound care and memory care. The young lady had no training. This was almost 10 years ago.
