wytex OP trapper Joined: Feb 2020 Wyoming	Took a nice little 6 pt on Thursday. Certainly no monster but we had to make a nice long hike in and stalk to get him, all in and out about 4.5 miles on foot. Thankfully we rode right up to him for the "pack out". Weather was nice, mid 50's and pretty calm for Wyoming. Had him hung in the cooler by 11 am. My trusty "guide" of the last 37 years made it all possible again.

snowy trapper S Joined: Dec 2011 MT	The hunt itself is what it is all about. I love those long hikes in for big game those hunts are the most rewarding regardless of size of big game. wytex OP trapper Joined: Feb 2020 Wyoming	Just quartered him out , bones in. We do gutless on elk, only boneless is the straps and tenderloins. Hung him in the Coolbot walk in cooler for the night, now he's hanging ion the garage. That little trailer is an Ohio Steel cart, it will haul 1200 lbs or 2 elk easily. Out on the West end of the property we found some tipi rings in the area we were hunting, always cool to see others hunted there way before we did.

wytex OP trapper Joined: Feb 2020 Wyoming	This is area 6, we have unlimited cow elk tags in this area and a general license for bulls or cows. We hope to take 3 elk but we'll see. The cow season runs until Jan. 31 but snow limits access usually by Nov or so. Thank you all. Seasons are just getting going for some so good luck and be safe. Looking forward to our mule deer season and hunt last week in Oct.
