I know there is mostly just meat eaters here but for them to answer also. If you had unique non-typical and a common nice typical big game animal standing side by side which would you shoot. If your answer is either one don't bother posting. I want an answer of non typical or typical. I'm a meat eater also but I still would have my choice with scenario I have given.

I like them both, but I like unique looking antlers more. I'll shoot the non-typical.

Non typical all day. There are tons of typical that all look the same.

I would take the typical for the simple fact I never had a buck before and I like that classic look. Additionally, I have seen a few non typical on my game cameras and I have this horrible habit of becoming attached and noting extra character in them.

A non typical would be cool, but the rack would just get tossed on the pile, lol

The reason I ask I have an opportunity to hunt a high scoring symmetrical 5x5 muley and a very unique non- typical muley. I only bow hunt gun is to easy so my chances will be very limited unless all stars align on either one of them. I also don't have a pumpkin patch so won't be arrowing one with their head buried in a pumpkin.

I have harvested both in the past and just not sure what I will do. I most likely will take the first one that gives me an opportunity. Both would be a great animal to harvest but I can say if standing side by side I would take that typical over non.

Time will tell if I can get it done regardless of which one.

I shot this "moose-a-bou" out of a herd that had a several typical "trophy quality" caribou.

That is pretty cool. There is something about those non typical. I have taken a few really unique non and never have regretted and had opportunities at great typical one too..

We have many typicals and as they mature they get character points, double brows, stickers, forks. So we shoot a bunch of basic 10's with extra point and of course clean typicals. So a true non-typical I would shoot everyday of the week and twice on Sundays. Never shot a drop tine, missed one in Ontario once. Non-typical.

I like non typical unless it's a massive spike or forkie, love huge forkies. I bought this guy for $70 at a auction, I think he's a cool buck.

He is really cool! Even a guy like that would not be considered legal where I live.
