I pull the camera cards every weekend on my new acreage.
This doe and little fawn showed up. Pics were from Monday October 13th. I was surprised to see this little guy.
Heck mom already changed out of her red summer coat.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Got a few around here that look to be the same age or near to it. They will have a rough time of it nursing thru these next few months with not much body fat or their winter hair coat. Some will not make it.

Years ago, in Late Nov I shot a doe that was still nursing. We shot the fawn knowing it wasn't going to make it.

The future don't look to promising for that little one. Many years ago got pictures of a doe and two small spotted fawns the middle of November, I am pretty sure they didn't fair well in the winter.

Years ago on Thanksgiving day I had a doe and spotted fawn come in. Right behind them was a buck that I shot. Some stuff you just dont forget.

I had a trailcam picture maybe 3 weeks ago of a doe that I am 95% sure was pregnant. She had a large belly and no fawns with her. She could have just been eating well and since no fawn was packing on the Winter pounds, but my gut said she was going to pop out a fawn soon. I had a fawn last Winter on camera that was way smaller than all the other fawns, I assumed it was born late.
