In the last thread I was told "look at the trucks they're driving" in reference to farmers and ranchers. You boys must mostly be rich farmers and ranchers considering the lack of vehicles I'm seeing posted.

All my $ is tied up in land and cows. I have some other trucks but this one is used around the farm like a side by side, works great. Back in the day (pre sidexside) all the farmers seemed like they had a old beater truck, now its just ATVs.

Anytime anything is at a all time high, there is a better chance it will drop and a lot of times hard. So it may be a good time to sell some of those cattle you have. Or you could wait until the bottom falls out of the live cattle market and blame Trump, if that would make you sleep better at night.

Trump could slap some of your mothers and you'd defend him, doesn't seem like it'd be hard to admit sometimes he just says dumb stuff without thinking it through.

I'm building my herd, bought land in CRP and once it comes out I want to stock it. I'm in for the long term, have had cows around since I was a kid and hope to till I die. Besides if I sell this year its gonna hit me hard come tax time.

Any 06 around here would be rusted out from the road salt all winter, especially the rear quarter panels and rockers. That one looks great. Just a couple dings!

I would post a picture of my 08 dodge but my daughter borrowed it while she vehicle shops. Got some body rust and and dings. Caught a lot of fur with it. Put a reman engine in it a couple years ago.

If Trump says a lot of things with out thinking, why get your short in a bind? Maybe worry about it once it happens. First there is no money then taxes will be the killer. Maybe if there were not so many farm programs taxes would not be so high for everyone.

Hmmm you did say you had land in CRP. How much is that “subsidy “ paying per acre? Building your herd? For what? Sell half at today’s record prices. Put cash in CD. When prices crash buy back for a fraction. Herd built back in fraction of the time. Take income buy new truck!!! At some point paying more taxes is still more profitable than taking a hit on the sell of your cattle. You don’t pay taxes if you don’t make the money

Bought Land and it was already enrolled in CRP, it's $86 per acre if you really care to know.

Cattle aren't my only or even main buisness, my other buisness had an excellent year and we paid off some land so we're already looking at an extremely high tax bill. We will sell cattle after January.
