This is pretty good a building that holds some of the most expensive items in the world and thieves just went through the window.

I heard on tv that the museum security guards saw them but didn't do anything, per regular procedure.

Not sure if true, but can believe it over there.

I wonder then, what is even the point of having security if their regular procedure is to not do anything?

Pretty much like security in any store or mall here in this country; call LE, document and don't take any action to interfere ... just let the thieves walk out the front door.

Yep,
The clip I watched said that and to protect patrons.

Seems they were dressed as construction workers, and used an outside lift to go through an upper window....probably caused just enough confusion to get in and out, only took several minutes.

I never really quite understood the point of stealing priceless art or some jewelry worth millions… it’s gonna be tough to sell without getting caught…

It’s not like stealing someone’s dewalt power tools and hocking them at the pawn shops.

The way an old art thief claimed to make money on stolen art was to hold it a couple years then get a lawyer involved to offer it back to the museum for a finders fee....Lawyer ,client confidentially and all that....lol

Yep, this route would be my guess how they proceed with the stolen items.

I see the company that made the lift is condemning the robbery.
But their advertising department is using the internet photo.
Something about when you are in a hurry to move hvy. things fast and quietly.
Hoping for international brand recognition.
