Pike and bass are what I prefer. I tried it with trout once, and didn't care for the taste.

We use northern pike. I think Bob Jameson on here has shown pickled trout that he made.

Just opened some pickled cukes.

Yes, halibut and salmon. I like the halibut better. It's addicting. I add pearl onions and carrot slices.

I’ve only ever had northern.

Been wondering about catfish. Have you ever tried pickling Flathead belly’s Jayme? Seems like a good texture for it.

I like to eat that fried too much to use it for pickled fish, maybe if I had a huge supply I'd try it, but I don't know. I like fried northerners too.

This past summer fishing the river I was catching all kinds of smallmouth. I was wondering if they would be any good smoked. Anybody try smoking them? I've smoked larger northern pike and they are good, just wondered about smallmouth?

If removing guns saves just one life it's worth it. Then if deporting illegals saves one life is that worth it?

I use a fork. Just put it in a small bowl and start eating.

Pickled eel was popular here, along with smoked...the classic salt water fish for pickling is herring....I never bothered, but will trade live eels for the finished product.
